Life via InstaGram {iPhone pics}

Happy Good Friday!  It's almost Easter and my photos this week reflect the season.
A bit of Spring fashion inspiration via walking through a retail store.  Yep, sometimes I take a peek at fashion trends in retail, so I know what to look for in my local Goodwill.
It's also the time of year to move winter clothes into storage and bring out the summer items.  I spent part of last weekend doing that.  The picture only shows half of Bears clothes!  We were blessed with tons of hand-me-downs from my cousin.
Meet Max.  Our rescued resident 'fat' cat.  Do all cats love boxes?!  This is a paper box from my office.
He fills it UP.
Pop of spring color here!  I finally wore this funky necklace to work this past week.  I've had it for months and tried it with several outfits, only to change my mind.  Why yes, that blouse is from Goodwill. ;-)
Since I ran out of time to show you all bunches of photos of my 'cheap' Easter mantel decor, here's one via InstaGram.  The huge tin birdie, I picked up at the Dollar General a few years back.  The tiny wire basket is a Goodwill score full of fake eggs.
Speaking of fake eggs.  Bear is having an Easter Party/Egg Hunt today at daycare.  They requested eggs stuffed with prizes.  Aren't the little Dollar Tree car eggs adorable?!  Bear LOVES them.
Our Easter weekend will be a busy one.  On Sunday, my family will get together for a family lunch and afternoon egg hunt for the little ones.  The little ones include Bear's sisters and my great-niece.  Should be fun!

What are your Easter plans?

My Week in Photos {InstaFriday}

Each Friday I share my InstaGram iPhone photos.  Here's a peek into what's going on down on the Farm:
Have you ever seen a tiny Quail egg?  Me either until we picked up 100 of them this past Saturday.  We have them in the incubator and should have itty bitty bitties in about 21 or so days.  When we drove up to the seller's farm, we were greeted by a beautiful blue
peacock.  Made us miss when we had them on the farm.  He followed us around like a puppy.
I'm hooked on this.  It totally qualifies for dinner right?
Gray beard and snow ball in bloom.  We are still enjoying beautiful warm weather!
Sometimes you just gotta have fast food.  My 'picnic' lunch in my car this week at work.
DQ in case you are wondering and I skipped ice cream. :(
Amazing sunset, breakfast for dinner, sipping coffee on the porch.  Priceless.
Sometimes I sneak into a retail store to see current trends to look for while thrift shopping.  These caught my eye and I am really wanting one.  BAD.
Our country church had their egg hunt Wednesday evening because next week is spring break for the area schools.  Bear enjoyed it and found a bucket full!
Painted toes, thrifted sandals, 80 degrees this week.  I think we skipped Spring all together and are moving right into summer.
For those that have followed my photos of the first turkey we raised (we now have 3 more chicks that are a week old).  Here he is via InstaGram in mid-January.
He is really growing!  We call him 'Little Tom', even though I am not sure yet if he is a Tom or a Hen.  Ha!  I snapped this one with my regular camera, but I just had to share.  Not sure if I will get the opportunity to snap him with my phone.
He now lives in the barn with the chickens.
My user name on InstaGram is Sherri9, if you would like to follow along in the adventure.
Hope you have enjoyed this week in review via photos!  I love spring with it's babies and blooms.  Any one want baby quails in a few weeks???  I'm still not sure what the Farmer plans to do with 100 of them!

Photos of a Farm Life - InstaFriday

We have been enjoying late Spring type weather and temps this week in Georgia.  The downfall is our pollen count is through the roof! Over 9000 on Tuesday. Seriously?!  My car is red with a lemon yellow glaze over it.  I feel as if I am breathing in pollen and blowing it out like a smoker's cloud.
A beautiful week for our University's Spring Break.  I'm sure our students enjoyed it!  However, the rest of us were stuck inside working.
Saturday my gorgeous 20 year old daughter attended a friend's party.  She asked me to snap her photo beforehand.  This is 'dressed up' for her.  She usually sports a t-shirt with jeans or shorts.   Sunday me and the Farmer were treated to a rare afternoon of 'free' time.  Which doesn't happen very often with a 4 year old.  First we had lunch....
Then we headed over to pick up some garden supplies and a few herb plants.  I am going to try my hand at a small herb garden.
Then we did what everyone else does round here on pretty Sunday afternoons (that is if they ain't nappin')...
drove slow around country roads.  Me singing loudly to the radio until I yelled STOP...I want a picture of
moo cows.
After our free time we hauled the youngen down to the spillway for some fun of his own.  Wading, moving logs and tossing rocks in the water.
He was so muddy at the end of the day; he had to strip down to his undies on the back porch before heading straight for a bath.
That's what little boys do.
My small city still has a downtown square, with sidewalk cafe's, a coffee shop and quaint bookstore.
The plus about all this warm weather in March is I am already wearing these...
New comfy sandals from Target.  I even painted my toes.  To see the rest of my thrifty outfits, check out THIS POST.
Welcoming Spring to Georgia, with heat and through the roof pollen counts.
One of the thrift outfits I wore to work this week.
If I'm gonna hit a traffic jam...
Well it better be a tractor man.
It's a boy! or maybe it's a girl!  We don't know yet.
The newest addition to the farm.  Another baby turkey hatched last night.  We are waiting on hopefully 2 others to make their debut.  There you have a small peek into my life;  from our little college town to country roads, and right on down to our thrifty simple farm.

How was your week?

My InstaGram Life {InstaFriday}

I love playing with InstaGram on my iPhone.  Weekly I link up and share a glimpse into my life; which apparently this week wasn't too exciting.  Ha!  Just simple living, down on the farm.
Full moon.  My photo was snapped from the farm's back porch.
New recipe - Lemon Chicken.  Looks fancy, tastes good.
Enjoying a peaceful moment in the sunshine over the weekend.
Nothing like Southern Sweet Tea in a Turvis Tumbler in the sun with a good book to read. Bliss!
Why yes, those are Goodwill jeans.
Cupcake baking with my 20 year old daughter.
This is Coke country!  Although I stick to coffee, sweet tea or water.  This painting is on the side of a store in a small rural country town, just a hop, skip and jump from the farm.
We have had beautiful weather this week with highs in the 80's!?  Is this still winter???  This bare tree says yes.
Just for fun, I took this photo of art hanging at the U where I work.
Do you think the 18 year old Freshmen students know what a 45 is??

Photo Review of My Week

Welcome to March!  Will it be lucky?  Do you have a lucky shirt?  Truth:  I snapped a photo of the shirt, but did not purchase it.
Sunday was a beautiful day, so I went for a walk around the barn yard.  Thought I would snap a photo of the 'baby daddy' to share.  This is Tall Tom ...the father of our one little growing turkey. While out on my stroll around the farm...
I ran into this big feller.  Levi is always up for a talk and a treat.
Finally got around to checking out 32 degrees.  New to our town and my first visit to a yogurt bar.  The place was so crowded we ate our treat in the car.  Yummy!  I see another date night in my near future.
Love when I get a haircut.  Back to Sassy me style. ;-)
Everything except my socks, necklace and homemade flower pin was purchased at a thrift store.  To see the full outfit, plus 5 other thrifty fashions; check out my weekly wear post.
We celebrated National Pancake Day.  Hey, this Mom loved the easy supper!  The reason we didn't have pancakes for breakfast?  Because round here, it's a mad dash out the door and we are lucky everyone escapes the farm wearing a matching pair of shoes!  Bear gets to eat breakfast at 'school'.  I wonder if he had pancakes twice that day?  If so, he didn't mind...they are his favorite.
Country roads, take me home...every day.
Current local gas prices.  My tiny car is sucking up more of my paycheck pennies with every increase.
Still loving InstaGram!  It's my quick fix throughout the day.  Finding new photogs to follow.
You can find me @sherri9
Happy Friday!  Welcome to March!
What are you doing this weekend?
