Weekend 'Junk' Finds

If you've read any, Ya'll know I like my junk.
Last weekend I hit a few yard sales.
This weekend, not as many yard sales but finds just the same,
while visiting the local Flea Market.
The gold frame is from last weekend's yard sale hunt - $1
It will soon be painted.
Sneak peak at another of last weekend's yard sale scores.
These pretties will be the topic of an upcoming post.
Can you say makeover?
And you won't believe the price tag on them!
I almost passed this by at the Flea Market Saturday.
To me, items sell when they are priced.
This had no tag.
$3
Ok, I'll take her.  Sweet treats or tiny decorations will adorn her soon.
My favorite finds of the day are the other 2 items.
An old white metal bucket - $2
Which will soon be home to some flowers.
Several months ago I found a smaller wooden tool box at a local vintage store.
Their price tag was $35.
Mine cost me $5.
Not sure if I want to paint it or just leave as is.
I'm thinking of putting 3 flower pots in it with herbs.
Got ideas? paint it/not ...how to use it?

  1. Sherri..I love all of your 'finds'. The tool box is perfect as is. I would just coat it with flat poly and call it good. It will stay safe from the elements and still keep the old rough look. Your 3 pots of herbs sounds great!

    Enjoy...

  4. Love all your finds. Don't paint the tool box it is wonderful the way it is, add the herbs and maybe tie some old twine on the handle.

  6. I can't wait to see what you do w/the wooden tool box. I have one my that I got from my FIL last year. It's newer though and had Home Depot inside. I finally got around to a very light coating of white spray paint. I'm using it on my potting bench to hold my tools, but have thought it would be very pretty w/flowers in pots too. Great finds on the rest of your items as well!

  13. I have a very similar tool box that my DSonIL made for me & rather than paint it, he stained it & then sealed it against moisture. Important if you don't want it to rot away from the water that drains from your plants. I keep herbs in mine out on the deck all summer.
Love all your other bargains, too!

  14. Love all your bargains. My vote for the tool box is not to paint...we have a very large one that we keep the kids books in.
