3 in 1: Featured, Guest, Wreath

Actually it's a Feature, a Guest appearance and a new Wreath.  ;-)


I am once again honored to be featured, this time over at Somewhat Simple!  My Got Gifts? idea of tile coasters was featured on Stephanie's Strut your Stuff - Holiday Cards and Gifts post.    She is having 5 days of Holiday strutin' going on over on her blog.  Plus there are tons of holiday idea link parties.  So be sure and check out all the goodies.

After I put my tree up Saturday, I decided to make a wreath for the door.  I had purchased a green foam small floral wreath at the Dollar Tree.  Found some old plain garland in the Christmas Storage bins and wrapped it around the wreath.  Then I used some scrap material cut in strips to add a touch of color.  It was still missing, hummm...Pine cones!  Ya know I got PLENTY of those after going pickin' . So I better make good use of them on tons of projects.

Another photo just in case you missed it (read about that adventure HERE) and wasn't sure what I meant.  I hot glued a few pine cones together, wrapped some jute between them and tied them to the wreath.

My front door will not completely shut if I use a pretty wreath hanger.  So I used a bit of leftover burlap.  It adds another layer of texture and color against my red door.  Simple and it costs me one whole dollar for the floral form.  Like I said, it doesn't have to cost a pretty penny to SHINE like one!

    Really cute, and I never thought of using garland glued onto a form. Great for people who have lots of leftover stuff the won't be using anytime soon.

    I gather pine cones in September, just after the squirrels have knocked them down, but your tractor method is even better!

    I am cracking up b/c we have such similar tastes! I hung wreaths all around my home with a simple burlap strip and it kinda looks like pine cones threw up in my house...but I LOVE IT! It's cheap but it looks so cozy and homey.

    I love your cheap decorating ideas. You're my kinda gal! :)
