Southern Gals and maybe some of you other gals, enjoy baking up some goodies for friends and neighbors at the holidays.
wooden plastic spoon, mix butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
This is a super easy moist EASY (oh wait, I said that already) Banana Bread, already taste tested by family and friends. Looks pretty on a Dollar Tree 'fake' glass tray or 'fake' silver. Wrap it up with cellophane, tie with a pretty ribbon, instant yummy gift! You can bake a full loaf or use the small loaf pans for individual scrumptious goodies.
Want the recipe?
Here is what you need:
Ingredients
- 3 or 4 ripe bananas, smashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sugar (can easily reduce to 3/4 cup) **I use 1 cup
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
Add the flour last, mix. Pour mixture into a buttered (I sprayed with Pam) 4x8 inch loaf pan.
Bake for 1 hour. **I check it at 50 minutes. Cool in pan at least 10 minutes, then remove.
I found the cutest food tray wraps (3 to a package) last year at the Dollar Tree.
Ignore ugly wallpaper in background, which has since been re-done!
I hope you enjoy the recipe! I found it HERE.

ReplyDeleteThe fake logs that hold candles in my fireplace came from Walmart about 8 years ago. I haven't seen any of them in the last few years but wonder if you googled it, you might find one. If I SHOULD see another, I'll be sure to let you know.!!

ReplyDeleteI make banana bread often. We buy bananas and we only like them before they get ripe. It does make great gifts. We had some yesterday morning, sliced and lightly buttered...under the broiler until just brown. Yum.
