Our Merry Mantle

This year I am keeping it simple, finding joy in the little things and breathing in this season slowly.
So in honor of less is more.
I am decorating less and enjoying it so much more!
Here is our  rustic, natural, minimalist mantle.
I shopped the house and my holiday decor, tossed in some thrifty finds to put it together.
The white pitcher was a Goodwill find.
Filled with a berry pick, trimmings from our Leland cypress tree and some handpicked real cotton.
Found the wooden frame while yardsale hunting over the summer, simply tied with raffia, another berry pick and tree trimmings.
Placed a few pine cones with the twine 'tree' that I made last year.
I love our little resident racoon.  He fits the 'theme' and stayed on the mantle.
The only item I purchased is the garland, which was on 50% off from Hobby Lobby.
Set me back a whopping $4.  Because we know it doesn't have to cost a pretty penny to SHINE like one.  All the floral picks are from last year.
Did you notice my set of candles?
They are also new and were FREE.  The secret is....
I made them!
Ahh, but that is another post. How else would I get you to visit again? ;-)
What is your decorating 'style' this year?
Pulled everything out including the kitchen sink or just a touch here and there?
I am a tad late to the party. Fashionably late, that is.

  1. Sherry,

I love your mantle. The candles are wonderful! Everything else is too, but the candles caught my eye immediately! Will look forward to the post about them.

Have a great weekend and Happy Holidays. Come over and visit me and see what I've been up to.

    Blessings,
    Kathy
