Welcome to my first Pink Saturday post! I am thrilled to join Beverly over at How Sweet The Sound and the long list of ladies that share a little PINK inspiration.Let me first say I had planned to pre-schedule my post last night. After work I came in and decided to do a bit of organization in my tiny laundry room. I had clothes on washing, while cleaning out the shelves. When the washer began pumping out the water...water began rolling down the wall! The drain apparently is clogged. I jumped off the step stool and turned off the machine but there was a huge puddle of water to clean up. So yes, real life happens and I am up sipping coffee this morning, typing up my post.

A few years ago I attended an event for Scrapbookers in a town just outside of Birmingham. The entire theme of the weekend was PINK ! Not only were there classes on making scrapbook items but the speakers were inspiring. Women sharing about their lives in such a way to remind us how we are all connected. My getting back into blogging has also reminded me of this. Women sharing their lives, their dreams, their talents, their inspiration with all of us. Reaching out to other women and touching our lives. I would like to thank EACH of you for sharing that passion and reminding us with your shared creativity that we each have the power to inspire someone every day. Even though we may not realize it. Your words do reach out and touch others.
I have read blogs on trials in our lives, on triumphs in our lives, on the daily challenges that face us. I read the ones where people are sharing their creative talents with us; inspiring us to find a simple junk store item and turn someone else's trash into a treasure for our homes. Blogging truly is a community come together by the dynamics of the Internet. Like the old quilting circles where women sat around pushing thread through fabric weaving together not only something beautiful and warm for their families but sharing their stories, enriching the lives of those in the circle.
So today not only do I share a beautiful color with you! I celebrate each of YOU!!! That take the time in your busy daily lives to post a blog. To share your stories, your talents, your ups and downs, your courage, the love for your families, your strength and yes, your weakness also. For every word is a work of {heart}. Your words INSPIRE me.
One last pink photo. Last weekend my daughter and I attended a baby shower of one of her friends. She is expecting a little girl and this was the centerpiece made by one of the hostesses. Another work of love and shared creativity!

I must say that I am not the only thrifty cloche Diva in blog land. I found at least two other gals that have arrived before me in the decor world. Another Sherry with her almost identical twin design of a cloche at
I also have to tell you about the little jar sitting on my table behind the platter. Ignore the ugly wallpaper chair rail, I hope that will be soon replaced with beaded board. I found that adorable jar at Ross for 99 cents! My ONLY purchase Saturday, but it was too cute and too good of a price to leave in the store! I just added some more of my Dollar Tree fake moss to it and dropped in a speckled egg. It is now 'home' with the large one on the

Now that I have beautiful NEW dishes to grace my little kitchen pub table... Who is coming to dinner????
While out and about in town Saturday, my daughter and I saw this:

The shower invitation had an enclosure card that said they are planning a surprise keepsake box for the new Mommy and to please bring a Do Not Disturb sign to include in the box. Something to remind her that she needs to take time for herself. What a neat little idea! She is having a girl, so I thought pink and green would be cute. I did take off the little white string that came with the boards and added my own pink ribbon as the 'hanger'.

How did I do? Did I learn some Nester knowledge? Well, I found 3 candle stands at Hobby Lobby today between $2-$3 each, plus the finial for $3. So for about $10 and in 10 minutes..Results! How awesome! The clock, books, candles, ball thingies and old picture were on hand items. I am NOT
One last tiny detail for the living room was adding two throw pillows to the sofa. They are the same color as my sheer that drapes over and above my window. Of course, they were clearance finds! Kohl's for around $5 each.
Thanks to Nester for the 'push' in the 10 minute right direction! Now I think it's time to relax and ENJOY! Try it. 10 minutes, give or take a few, to a new look you will love and within a tiny budget!

Located on the short wall of my living room, between the fireplace and the walk through to my kitchen/dining area are the old window frame, my 'new' makeover table and a churn given to me by my mom. It belonged to my grandmother.

Forgive the blurry not so great photos shot with my hand-me-down digital camera. My daughter has the 'better' of the camera's and of course, wanted to take hers for Valentine photos with her boyfriend!

Because of the paint, I won't be using food in my heart. I think it would be pretty in my bedroom or on any side table as decorations next Valentines.
